29/03/02 NEWS HOT OFF THE PRESS

    Update on NYC:
  • 1. Lakepa Youth will be having their camp from 5-6 April at the Youth Centre.
  • 2. Myself and Sunlou Freddie, NYC Advisor are currently trying to complete the Corporate Plan for the youth. Will send you a final copy electronically if it's completed.
  • 3. Catholic Youth invites the Youth of Niue to participate in the march for Jesus, Station of the Cross to be held this Friday, 29 March, from Alofi, Fale Fono to Catholic Service, all are invited.
  • 4. NYC Management and Youth Leaders Camp - proposed for the 3-4 May. Main purpose, for the Management and the Youth leaders from each youth group affiliated to NYC to come together and share their experience about what makes a good leader, and also learn a few leadership skills.
  • 5. NYC Easter devotion, organised by Spiritual Officer Robin Hekau. Early morning devotion followed by breakfast at the Tamakau Makatea pitt near the airport. this is the Easter programme. Commences at 5.30 am in the morning. It will be followed by breakfast. Each youth group to bring in their own cereals or vala niu pakupaku/ vala loku ke lata ma e shared breakfast.
  • 6. Alofi North Youth - Some of the youth members namely, Frances Talepita, Meself, Daph Togahai, Rosa Bilitaki tutoring NHS kids with their homework. Homework Programme starts 5.00 pm every Wednesday. To help out those students who needs or required extra tutorial for their school works.
  • 7. Mutalu Youth - kaufakalataha to the Kini Kavihala programme last Saturday.

1/07/2001Fakalofa lahi atu kia mutolu oti. Ko e tau gahua fuata mafola, mohe a mohe, fefeua a fakafiafia tino, holo he pulumu a loto atuhau. We have a fale pola project scheduled for August 11 to mark international youth day.Youth groups have been combined to build traditional fale pola, in a cultural center setting, trad plants and the works. The dream to make $$$??? A place for youth to hide during working hours nah...., lunch time sounds better. Location - facing the male vakalele. Program for the day will be completed with tau tala Niue tuai. We have now secured $$$ for a health clinic here at the youth center (fakaaue kia Moui Olaola) Kua leva ne mohemiti ki ai e tau fuata, hanei kua fakamoli.

1/7/2001Working towards a Leo Atuhau TV program, set to start Aug 12. Canoe project : youth groups working towards target date Oct 19. 3 men canoe, 1 man canoe & raft races, one of youth highlights for constitution. We have a Leo Atuhau newsletter, anyone out there wish to have thoughts printed, foward to this add and we'll print. contributions welcome, mua atu ka tohi mai he vagahau motu, ne gahoa e koloa pihia he Leo Atuhau. There's an ekalesia youth service at Vaiea this Sunday, Berta & Alofi crew we'll be singing, ti tahake pulenoa taha liogi ole mai he tau faahi motu ia, ma e magafanau hinei. Yes, Alofi won soccer season, sai e tau tekeniki ha Osi & co, party at Fualahi green, this Sat after knockout tournament.

1/7/2001 Lahi he tau youth groups ko e gahua maaga. Pine youth working with VC, holo ki mua e tau gahua he magafaoa ia. They just had a workshop for youngsters making small canoes, a great idea leading up to 3 men project they are now into.Yes Hagen & Peta are back. SDA youth working towards an outreach program and intend to travel to villages with this. Ekalesia youth groups which involve most of the village youth gps are stiill with ekalesia commitment. Monthly services I've just posted smthg for global community today.
